ZXPLR™

Production managers and exploration teams alike continually seek greater safety, efficiency, and data quality in seismic acquisition. Our newest advancement in OBN technology, the Fairfield Geotechnologies ZXPLR, delivers. A hybrid system capable of dual-mode deployment in both deep and shallow water, it’s designed to further simplify node management, maintenance, and inventory control, reducing overall costs by supporting multiple operations.

Safety, efficiency and ease of deployment—at any depth.

ZXPLR can be deployed with a passive rope or by ROV. In deepwater applications, High-Speed Loader (HSL) capacity is increased, employing mid-water docking and active heave controls on HSL and ROV systems. In shallow water operations, hands-free rope connection/disconnection and automated retrieval/deployment enhance safety and efficiency.

Better data, greater scalability.

Emerging imaging technologies require densely sampled, longer offset, full-azimuth data. ZXPLR can deliver it, more economically than ever. It features redesigned deployment methods that allow for exploration-scale surveys in deep or shallow water.

Onboard data quality control is also automated, enabling onboard processors to quickly and consistently verify node data, while simplifying downstream processing and node performance tracking
